Who is the FA Emergency First Aid workshop aimed at?
For all managers, coaches, volunteers, medics and referees in football. For those involved with coaching, medical and refereeing qualifications the FA Emergency First Aid workshop is mandatory (and usually organised as part of the qualification).
Pre-requisites:
Applicants must be 16 years of age or over.
Course Objective:
- Preserve Life
- Limit Effects
- Promote Recovery
Course Syllabus:
- Approach to an incident (danger, help, bystanders)
- Assessment of Priorities (ABC)
- Checking responsiveness – shake and shout
- Opening the airway – chin lift/head tilt
- Checking breathing – look/listen/feel
- Checking the pulse (carotid)
- Recovery position (for breathing casualty)
- Breathing for the casualty (mouth to mouth)
- Chest Compressions
- Combined heart-lung resuscitation
- Control of bleeding (press and raise)
- Dressing of wounds
- Minimising shock
- Choking
- Heart Attacks

This workshop is £25 per candidate, or £20 if the candidate is part of an FA Charter Standard Club.
