Sport England Schemes
Small Grants
The Sport England Small Grants Programme uses lottery funding to make awards of between £300 and £10,000 to not-for-profit organisations to deliver new community projects to either grow or sustain participation in sport or to support talent development. Current priorities are increasing adult participation and stopping 16-19 year olds from dropping out of sport.
Sportsmatch
Sportsmatch aims to encourage new sponsorship of grassroots community sport by matching match sponsorship from the commercial sector as well as donations from private individuals or charitable trusts. Will award between £1,000 and £100,000.
Inspired Facilities
Grants of £20,000 to £50,000 for community groups, sports clubs, parish councils etc towards building modernisation, outdoor lighting, outdoor sports surfaces or sports equipment. (£20,000-150,000 available for Local Authorities)
Protecting Playing Fields
£20,000 to £50,000 available for improving pitches, creating playing field land, bringing disused fields back into use and supporting community and voluntary groups to protect playing fields.
Iconic Facilities
£250,000 to £3,000,000 available towards world leading sports facilities.
National Initiatives
Sportivate
Over £160,000 per year available in Nottinghamshire for schemes that encourage 14-25 year olds into sport. Funding available for 6 weeks of activity and can be used to pay for coaching, equipment, marketing, facility hire or transport.
Active at 60 Fund
Grants of £250 - £3,000 available for volunteer led groups who aim to assist those who are 60+ keep active.
Awards for All
Grants of £300 - £10,000 available and will support projects that aim to create ‘Healthier and more active people and communities”. May not be suitable for all sports based projects, who would be better served by Sport England’s small grants scheme.
Cash4Clubs
Grants of £250, £500 or £1,000 awarded to community sports clubs to improve facilities, coaching, equipment or aid sustainability.
Comic Relief
Between £1,000 and £10,000 available to community groups who aim to increase access to sport and exercise for people who face social exclusion and isolation.
Mars Refuel
Grants of £500 to support sports clubs and talented athletes to play longer (expected to re-open in early 2012).
People’s Postcode
£500 - £10,000 grants available to small organisations, charities and community groups for projects that aim to increase people’s participation in sport.
Peter Harrison Foundation
Grants to support sporting activities or projects which provide opportunities for people who are disabled or otherwise disadvantaged to fulfil their potential and to develop other personal and life skills.
RBS Sport for You
Up to £1,000 available for amateur sports clubs.
Community Amateur Sports Clubs
A national money saving scheme that that offers sports clubs mandatory rate relief and allows them to claim gift aid on voluntary donations.

These will operate in different areas of Nottinghamshire, so check the guidance carefully.
Biffaward – Main Grants Programme
Grants of £5,000 to £50,000 available to projects that improve the quality of, or create parks, play areas, green spaces or sports facilities for teenagers and children in order to improve quality of life.
Biffaward – Small Grants Programme
Grants of £250 - £5000 for not for profit community groups to improve a local amenity, including sports clubs.
Lafarge Community Fund
Local groups can apply for funding for a wide range of community and environmental projects.
SITA Trust – Enhancing Communities Programme
Grants of up to £60,000 to projects that make improvements to community facilities including sports facilities.
SITA Trust – Queen Elizabeth II Fields Fund
Grants of up to £25,000 for non-profit making organisations aiming to improve sports facilities or playing fields
Wren
Small grants (up to £15,000) and main grant scheme (up to £500,000) to improve public amenities, including sports facilities.

Councillors Discretional Funds
Councillors in Nottinghamshire often have funds they can pass on to local groups or individuals. You will need to contact them directly regarding this.
East Midlands Airport
Grants of up to £2,000 (more may be considered) for groups that aim to bring the community closer together through facilities for sport, recreation and other leisure time activities. Applies to a geographic location near to East Midlands Airport including South Nottingham, West Bridgford, Beeston and Keyworth.
JN Derbyshire Community Fund
Grants of up to £2000 are available for groups who deliver various projects including sporting activities for young people.
Jessie Spencer fund
Up to £2,000 awards for groups that provide educational diversionary or out of school activities for children and young people, or who are looking to improve the health and welfare of older and vulnerable people.
Jones Trust
Up to £3,000 for groups who deliver diversionary activities or out of school activities for young people, promote healthier communities or who support older and vulnerable people with activity groups.
Major Oak fund
£1000 grants available to groups in Bassetlaw or Hawtonville (Newark) who delivery sports activities for children and young people.
Mansfield Building Society
Grants of £100 - £500 for groups in Nottinghamshire or Derbyshire to promote and encourage sporting activities.
