Aim of scheme
The Football Stadia Improvement Fund (FSIF) provides grant aid to clubs in the Football League, the Conference and the National League system, down to step 7 and below, that wish to improve their facilities for players, officials and for spectators.
The FSIF funds:
The type of projects which qualify for FSIF funding and the amount of grant available depends upon the level at which clubs are playing but include:
- Safety work
- Refurbishment and upgrading
- Spectator accommodation (excluding directors’ and
executive facilities)
- Toilets
- Floodlighting
- Improvements to changing facilities
- Pitch drainage
- Relocation projects
- Provision for disabled spectators

Accessible Stadia
The FSIF have published Accessible Stadia, a good practice guide to the design of facilities that meet the needs of disabled spectators and other users. The publication has been funded by the FSIF supporter of the Football Foundation, and the Football Licensing Authority (FLA)
