Young Leaders Selected for FA Camp

Two lucky young leaders from Nottinghamshire will be representing their county at The FA's National Young Leadership Camp in July 2008.

The Nottinghamshire FA has just announced that Charlie Edwards (Holgate School) and Sara Dickinson (Joseph Whitaker School) are to be offered the chance of a lifetime to attend this prestigious camp.

They attended a one day camp in Leicestershire in April, along with 47 other young leaders from around the East Midlands and their leadership skills impressed the assessors.

Craig Lee, Football Development Officer, was delighted with the performance of the young leaders.

"The quality of the young leaders produced by Nottinghamshire has improved greatly year on year. All 11 young leaders from this county were noticed by the assessors during the day, but Charlie and Sara edged the decision in the end.

I'm sure they will thoroughly enjoy The FA National Young Leaders Camp and develop their skills further.

The challenge now is supporting the development of all the young leaders, not just Charlie and Sara, as they have all shown great potential."

Leeds United and England Womens' International, Katie Holtham from West Bridgford, was present at the camp and joined in the workshops with the young leaders, speaking to them about her experiences in womens' football - which certainly inspired some of the females present.
