NEW GOALKEEPER COACHING LAUNCHED -FIRST WEEKLY SESSION FREE!
Chris Phillips Goalkeeper Coaching are Nottinghamshire-based and headed by Chris Phillips who is currently Derby County Academy goalkeeper coach, backed by coaches of a high standard who work within Academies or Centre of Excellence.
They will be running weekly one-hour sessions as well as holiday courses at John Fretwell Sports Complex in Mansfield, for goalkeepers of all abilities who want to improve in a safe and fun environment from ages 7yrs to 16yrs.
Chris says: "We feel that goalkeepers are the poor relations when it comes to coaching, and that is why we are launching our own brand of high quality coaching - specifically aimed at goalkeepers. We are here for the long term to support goalkeepers of all abilities, girls, boys, adults and other coaches, to help them reach their maximum potential.
"An area we have outlined is for goalkeepers aged 16 years and over who are at local amateur and semi professional clubs, but get very little coaching although being expected to perform at high standards.
"With this in mind we will be running 16 to adult only goalkeeping clinics on a weekly basis at Joseph Whitaker Sports College in Rainworth.
"Over the next few months we will be looking to deliver residential courses and a possible overseas coaching tour, all of which will be advertised on our website in due course.
"We are also available for coaching sessions with individual clubs where we will attend the club's training and deliver a high quality session to their goalkeepers, based around a core programme agreed between the club and ourselves.
"We believe that striving for excellence should be second nature and not a chore. This is evident in the delivery of sessions and the quality of coaches selected to represent us."

There are more specialist Terry Straw Goalkeeping Sessions at the Garibaldi College, Forest Town in Mansfield every Monday night.
Coaching for the 12-years and under age group takes place between 6pm and 7pm, while over 12s are catered for between 7pm and 8pm.
Cost is just £3 and there will be a maximum of 16 per session – so booking is advised.
