Kerry makes it full house for Chettle family

Football has become an all-embracing thing in the Chettle household!

Steve Chettle has long been in the record books as the player with the third highest number of appearances for Nottingham Forest – and sons Connor and Cameron are making their way with the Forest Academy Under-12s and Moorgreen Colts Under-9s respectively.

Now, wife Kerry has taken her first steps in the world of coaching.

Kerry – and friend Andrea King – were amongst those attending a female-only FA Level 1 Coaching Course, held at the Richard Herrod Leisure Centre in Carlton.

“I thoroughly enjoyed participating in the course,” Kerry admitted afterwards. “The tutor made everybody feel welcome and relaxed – and explained in uncomplicated terms what was required of us throughout the course.

“I would recommend any woman wishing to get involved in football to attend one of these courses.”

Andrea admitted that she had to overcome some initial nerves. “Once I settled down, I think that the fact that it was a women’s only course made me feel more relaxed and by the end of it I felt part of something to be proud of.

“I am looking forward to using the knowledge I have acquired in the future by helping girls who have an interest in football to develop in a fun, learning environment.”
