Second placed Southwell Amateurs trounced bottom of the table Nottinghamshire II 7 – 1 whilst Acorn Athletic remain one point behind after defeating TVFC 3 – 1 with Matt Lake TV’s scorer.
Andy Bingley, Josh Caunt and Stefan Frost were each on target for Brunts Old Boys who were 3 – 1 winners over Pinxton North End, while Monty Hind Old Boys crashed 5 – 0 to Steelers, who after a poor start to their season are starting to move up the table.
Meanwhile, goals from Chris Boothey, Sean Bodkin, Andrew Holland, Gary Boon and Gordon Green saw Woodborough United notch a 5 – 1 victory at the expense of Beeston OBA.
In Division One, Radcliffe Olympic III equalised in the last minute to earn a 2 – 2 draw with Lady Bay who had lead through Brett Biddulph and Ben Talbot and retain fourth spot in the table.
Derbyshire Amateurs II climb off the bottom of the table thanks to their 2 – 1 defeat of Bassingfield, with James Derbyshire and Aiden Meyrick ensuring a welcome victory.
Wollaton IV now prop up the table after crashing 7 – 1 to Broadmeadows, while a hat-trick from Andrew Godson, a double from Henry Hilton and a solitary strike from Jordan Slater earned EMTEC an emphatic 6 – 0 victory over Eaton Hall College.
The MAA Junior Cup Round 2 tie between Old Elizabethans II and Nottinghamshire III was decided by a first half goal from Pete Linley which provides Notts with a home Semi-Final tie against Sherwood Colliery.
Another 1 – 0 result earned Division One leaders Coronation a Notts Minor Cup Semi-Final berth at the expense of Division Two outfit AFC Nottingham United in an all MAA tie. Joe Parker’s first half strike separated the two teams.
There were mixed results for the other two MAA teams in the competition however, with Southwell Amateurs II eventually crashing 7 – 1 to Carlton Town Academy after being 5 – 0 adrift at half-time and Beeston AFC II achieving an identical success against AFC Bridgford II. Richard Varney was a hat-trick hero and Matt Smith, Andrew Sidwell and James Owen completed the tally.
In Division Two leaders Nuthall Athletic were 3 – 0 victors over Tibshelf Community with Chris Rhune netting twice and Gareth Wilhelms also on target. Selston II crushed lowly Ravenshead 7 – 2, a victory which enabled them to retain sixth place in the table. A Scott Harrison hat-trick and goals from Ben Howell, Ben Childs, Ryan Bromyard and Chris Wharmby were answered by Luke Williams and Simon Abbs for Ravenshead.
A Josh Anthony goal enabled Sherwood Colliery II to claim a 1 – 1 draw with third placed Old Bemrosians. Second placed FC Interski edged out Chilwell Villa 4 – 3 with two goals from Steven Winsbury and the other from Chris Woods for Villa which proved not quite sufficient to provide an upset.
