There are two major games at the top of the Notts Sunday League Premier Division this weekend, with third-placed Chesterfield Arms looking to replace rivals Arnold as the league leaders.
Arnold – with home advantage – are one point better off than Chesterfield Arms and have played one game less. A crucial factor could be Arnold’s good defensive record – the best in the division – which has seen them concede just 11 goals in their nine fixtures to date.
Should that game finish all-square, then the side currently in second place, Trentside, can make it to the top if they win at Rolls-Royce Leisure Athletic.
It’s still an incredibly tight division, with at least half of the clubs still in with a shout of finishing first or second.
There’s also a crucial battle at the other end of the table where bottom club Nuthall go to Redhill looking to close the gap on their fellow strugglers to just three points.
Sandwiched in between are Radford Park Rangers who will do well to get anything out of their trip to play Clumber.
