Funding And Facilities

    •
Are you looking to update, renovate or build a facility for your football club or team? This section of Nottinghamshire FA is to guide you in the right direction. The key to developing any facility project is to work with Nottinghamshire FA

The FA’s vision for facilities:- “Building, protecting and enhancing sustainable football facilities to improve the experience of the nations favourite game”

  1. Building – Provide new pitches and facilities in key locations to FA standards in order to sustain existing participation and support new participation. The FA will also seek to provide new opportunities for volunteers to build skills in areas of facility development, management and maintenance.

  2. Protecting – Ensure that playing pitches and facilities are protected for the benefit of current and future users.

  3. Enhancing – Invest in existing pitches and facilities, ensuring that participation is sustained as well as expanded.

The FA’s facility priorities, supported by County Football Associations, will provide a facilities service to clubs and leagues. There will be 5 key areas of activity:

  1. Leading the development of technical standards – The FA is responsible for the development of the national game. Part of this responsibility is to lead the development of simple to understand, free to access technical standards relating to all facility types - at all levels.
  2. Facility planning and protecting playing fields – The FA takes very seriously its role in protecting playing fields and facilities and will continue to work closely with Sport England in ensuring that all football facilities and protected from development where these developments would have a detrimental impact on the game.
  3. Supporting club and league volunteers – the FA recognises that much more needs to be done to equip volunteers with the resources and skills they need to better manage and maintain facilities. This is especially important when resources are scarce as more clubs and leagues consider self sufficiency and financial independence.
  4. Targeted facility improvement schemes – The FA will provide a range of specific facility improvement opportunities to clubs and leagues seeking to improve their facilities. Many of these opportunities will be made possible through new partnerships with private sector interests. Early examples include a new floodlighting scheme for clubs and the FA’s new Pitch Improvement Programme.
  5. Capital investment into facilities – The FA, supported by its fellow funding partners, the Premier League and Sport England, will continue to make direct capital grant investments into facility projects across the country. These projects will range from grants for modest repairs to boilers and club-houses through to major capital grants for new Artificial Grass Pitches and pavilions.

These programmes will be delivered through continued close working with County Football Associations, clubs and leagues. Existing partnerships with local authorities, primary and secondary schools, HE/FE and other community based groups will be strengthened and new ones formed. The FA will work to attract new investment into facilities through direct partnerships with private sector partners.
