Black History Month Awareness Evening

October is Black History Month and to celebrate, Nottinghamshire FA is hosting an evening aimed to engage under-represented groups into football and coaching alike.

The evening will take place on Friday 5th October at Radford FC. The night will kick off with food being available (ALL FREE) from 7pm, for a 7.30pm start where the evening will involve several guest speakers each talking about their journey and experience within football, from both the professional and grassroots pathway.

Some of the guest speakers include:

Michael Johnson – ex professional footballer who played for Birmingham City, Notts County and Derby County. He is currently manager of the Guyana National football team, and has many great stories to tell, definitely one not to be missed!

Mark Clifford – ex footballer and coach, currently part of the management team at Basford Utd. Mark will give a great insight into his career and is an inspiring figure within the BAME community.

The evening will be hosted by FA staff, with the chance to meet the mentors who are there to offer help and support within coaching.

All under-represented groups within football e.g. females, BAME community, Asian community
