Coaching in Education

Football in schools, colleges and universities

Since the government made a major announcement on School PE & Sport, which will see a £150m per annum investment into Primary Schools ring fenced for the provision of high quality PE & Sport. The Football Association has committed to creating a PE & Coaching in Education Unit to support those delivering association football in an Educational setting.

The Association for PE (afPE) has clear guidance on workforce qualifications for coaches working in the school environment. In partnership with 1st4Sport Qualifications we have developed a bespoke vocational qualification providing a recognised professional learning pathway for coaches.

The current PE National Curriculum can be seen here.
