FA Skills Programme

The FA Skills programme is a revolutionary approach to coaching football that gives children aged 5-11 the opportunity to get active, learn new skills and enjoy the game!

The FA Skills Programme is a unique football coaching programme that gives all children in Nottinghamshire, aged 5-11 years old, of all abilities, the opportunity to get active, learn new football skills and enjoy the game in a positive learning environment. The programme has been providing high quality football coaching sessions for children since 2007 and has to date provided over 3 million child places on the programme nationally.

The FA Skills Programme is a nationwide initiative run by The Football Association and provides Schools, Skill Centres and Holiday coaching along with offering support for Charter Standard Clubs. The aim is to develop better and more technically gifted players but also to give every child the opportunity to be the best they can be.

Steve Stennett
FA Skills Coach

Steve is a UEFA 'A' Licence Football coach and has completed the FA Youth Awards Modules 1, 2 and 3. In his spare time Steve was also responsible for Developing Elite Players at the Nottingham Forest FC Centre of Excellence for Women's & girls football, where he was Head Coach of the U10-U16 teams during a 4 year spell. Steve has also worked as a Community Football Coach in Nottinghamshire.

Sam Pearce
FA Skills Coach

Sam is a Level 2 qualified coach, who has also completed The FA Youth Award Module 2. As part of The FA Skills Team in Nottinghamshire, Sam works with Children and Schools in Ashfield and Mansfield.

Emma Dennis
FA Skills Coach


Emma completed her degree in Science and Football before becoming a Sports Science lecturer at College. Emma is also a Football Coach for the U11's Nottinghamshire Girls Player Development Centre. She has coached out in the USA and as part of The FA Skills team in Nottinghamshire. Emma works with Children and schools in the Broxtowe Borough area and is UEFA 'B' qualified, also holding a FUTSAL Level 1 Award and has recently completed The FA's Youth Award.
