The College has access to regular and structured training, strength and conditioning sessions, player analysis as well as playing in competitive matches in the Association of Colleges East Midlands Football league.
Through the partnership with NFLFC there has been expertise goal keeper training delivered to the college students and several players have benefited from specialist training with the NFLFC which has helped them to develop as players.
Nottingham College Community & Performance Sport Manager, Diane Garfield said: “The partnership between the college and club is proving to be enormously successful and we have created a positive environment for players to combine study and football.”
Nottingham College Head coach, Graham Abercrombie said: “The importance for a club like Nottingham Forest Ladies FC to collaborate in a partnership within the local community cannot be overstated.
To be able to work with outstanding local girls at the 16+ age group to develop them as players and contribute to their development as people is fantastic and an honour.
All of the players involved currently within the college program have grown in confidence, stature and game understanding but most importantly of all, appreciate their role within a team environment and have lots of fun.
I'm extremely proud to be the head coach of the college programme and it absolutely enhances the opportunities for all the girls involved to take steps towards playing in the red of Nottingham Forest Ladies FC.”
