Nottinghamshire FA are proud to announce our 2018/2019 Charity of the Year ‘Nottinghamshire Mind’. We will be working specifically with Nottinghamshire Mind to ensure all funds raised benefit the local Nottingham community.
Nottinghamshire Mind work with people affected by mental health issues delivering a range of services including information and training services, one to one support, peer support, self-help and volunteer development.
Alongside raising funds for the charity we are hoping the partnership will help raise awareness within our football community ensuring people within the game know where to turn to if they are ever in need of support.
Nottinghamshire FA will be holding a number of events throughout the season to raise both awareness and money for Nottinghamshire Mind. Our first fund raising event will be at our Awards evening on 3rd August where we will be running a raffle to raise money through ticket purchased on the evening.
Leanne Woodhead, Senior Football Development Officer said: "On behalf of The Nottinghamshire FA I am delighted to announce our Charity of the Year as Nottinghamshire Mind, we chose this charity due to the fact that individuals who are suffering with Mental Health issues still require a lot more support than they are receiving.
"The Nottinghamshire FA work with Nottinghamshire's communities with football being the steer, we know that further mental health awareness, support and intervention is very much needed across all age groups. We are looking forward to holding a number of events involving staff to raise money for a great charity and we hope to do all we can to assist in this cause."
