We are delighted to announce the winner of the FA Grassroots Adult Coach of the Year Award 2020, Bingham Town Ladies FC Coach, Matt Lawson.



Matt was nominated for his commitment and passion to the team; also bringing a positive community ethos to the environment that creates a happy place for players to develop their skills. He also brings with him a wealth of experience both on and off the field from his background in professional football. We caught up with Matt and the team after he received his award, here’s what they had to say.



What does it mean to you to have won the Grassroots Adult Coach of the Year Award?

“It means everything, it’s shared with all the other coaches. We’ve got a load of good coaches at the club and we share it with the players as well. I’m really grateful for it, so I want to thank everybody very much” – Matt Lawson, Adults Grassroots Coach of the Year 2020

“He’s a 100% fella, he lives and breaths football. Always ringing me up to discuss the teams and tactics, he’s planning his sessions constantly.
