Nicola National FA Grassroots Volunteer of the Year

Nottinghamshire FA are proud to announce Moorgreen Colts welfare officer didn’t just win a County FA recognition award but also a National FA award for Grassroots Volunteer of the Year.

Described as ‘kindness in a nutshell’, Nicola does everything humanly possible to ensure all the children at Moorgreen Colts FC can play within a fun and inclusive environment.

Having taken on many duties – fixtures secretary and running the tea-bar week in, week out being just two examples. Nicola is also central to fundraising. Through her tireless efforts, the club has raised the finances to buy a second-hand tractor mower, as well as sparkling new equipment for the players.

Ensuring good standards of behaviour are observed at all times, Nicola is a huge advocate of Respect. She is a champion of fair play within the club and makes herself visible right across the club, supporting players and parents and taking pressure off Moorgreen Colts’ managers.

Always going the extra mile, just one example is how Nicola sourced young referees when then they were in short supply. Typically, she still continues to nurture and encourage those referees, doing it so well that many of them remain keen to officiate each week and have even written to the leagues to praise her. For Nicola, no detail is too small.

Nicola – we are proud to have you as part of the Nottingham Football Community.
