Football is the largest team sport for females, with over 250,000 participants in England. Nationally, female football is growing and developing, with The FA having launched a new strategy for the female game entitled ‘The Game Changer’ in July 2013, which will run through to 2018.

Women's and Girls' Football continues to be the Number 1 female team sport as 1.38 million girls and women play various forms of the game in England.

It is our aim at The Nottinghamshire FA to engage with female players whatever their age or ability and to point them towards opportunities that are right for them.

The FA Girls' Festival, Nottingham 2015.

Whether you’re a beginner and want to try football for the first time, want to push yourself at a higher level or maybe you’ve been away from the game for a period of time and wish to get back into it, there are opportunities for you.

Nottinghamshire FA Development Officers are available to assist in the development of all aspects of the women’s and girls’ game with the primary aim being to increase participation and improve access to local playing opportunities.

In the county we have over 70 female youth teams and 30 female adult teams.
