START YOUR FOOTBALL JOURNEY!

There has never been a more exciting time to get into youth football.

The Youth Development Review (YDR) undertaken by the FA in 2012, has transformed the game for our young players beyond recognition. No longer do 7- and 8- year-olds have to play 11v11 on massive pitches, with goals so large that their parents have to stand on steps to simply put the nets up.

The YDR put the development and experience of our young players at the forefront of its decision making, and the FA continue to drive changes to ensure that the best possible environment is created so that everyone can enjoy football.

The changes to the forms of the game are now fully embedded into youth football, and have been embraced by those involved in running the game, the FA, the County FA, the leagues, the clubs, the coaches, the parents and spectators, and the players themselves.

Youth football is growing in Nottinghamshire, with more teams joining the leagues every year. Youth football is all about offering players a fun and enjoyable introduction and continued experience in football. We want junior players to form a lifelong love of the beautiful game whilst developing their confidence and skills.

Reporting Concerns

It'S EVERYONE’S RESPONSIBILITY

If you feel that an adult connected to your league or club (e.g. a referee, coach or a volunteer) is mistreating someone under the age of 18, there are various confidential ways you can report this.

By ‘mistreating’, we mean behaving towards under-18s in a physical or verbal way you believe is threatening or makes the young person feel scared or bad.

Find out more and watch a short film The FA has produced explaining how to report your concerns. Of course, everything is completely confidential.
