FA Grassroots Referees

Development & Courses

Nottinghamshire FA offer a wide range of development and courses for ambitious refereees starting at the age of 14 with the Mini Soccer Referee Course working their way up to The FA Referee Course. We encourage the development of referees through our Development Group and Referee Promotion scheme that supports match officials on moving through the FA’s referee pathway. There are monthly meetings to provide additional training opportunities on a variety of topics including fitness and fitness testing, practical and theory session all game related. 
A helping Hand

Refereeing Development

Our referees are recruited, trained and examined to enable a smooth grassroots operation.  As they gain experience further opportunities are provided to aid their development and progression.  Appointments are made to adult and youth County Cup ties, together with games in certain FA competitions.
