UEFA B Level 3 Coaching Football

UEFA B Information Evening

Preparations for the UEFA B Class of 2018/19 continued this month when we held an information evening for candidates who have applied or thinking of applying.

Our CCD Chris Dowhan and FDO Tim Jones outlined the structure of the course, the expectations of the candidates, and the selection process we will adopt to select the 24 learners for the course.

Tim explained that the course is split into four blocks, beginning in September and covering the whole season. Between the blocks, each learner will have three in situ visits by one of the three course tutors to either a training session or match day with the coaches own players, in their own environment.

Each learner has to produce a project which needs to include 18 training sessions linked to 18 match days which need to follow the Plan-Do-Review Model. The project should also outline the coaches individual coaching journey, which details their development over the season.

Dates and venue for the 2018/19 course have now been fixed. Details are as follows

Venue: Eastwood CFC

Block 1: September 3rd/4th/5th
Block 2: November 12th/13th
Block 3: March 11th/12th
Block 4: June 10th/11th

The three tutors on the course will be Chris Dowhan, Chris Freestone and Gary Webb.

Chris and Tim emphasised to the group the commitment that is needed from coaches embarking on the UEFA B course. Attendance is required on each day of the course delivery, and the work needed outside the delivery days is time consuming and involved.

Coaches need to satisfy themselves that they have the capacity, commitment and dedication required to complete the course and need to have access to sufficient players to allow them to deliver sessions of UEFA B standard. Coaches will receive support from both the Nottinghamshire FA and the course tutors to help them achieve success throughout the course, but need to be aware of what it involves.

The UEFA B award is the highest coaching qualification you can achieve in grassroots football and is the qualification which can give access to academy football.

If you believe you are ready to take your coaching to the next level, and have the drive, determination and commitment it takes, there is still time to apply. Simply click on the below link, where you can read further details about the selection process and course pre-requisites.
