FA Education Course Guidance 

All Education & Coaching Courses are now being administered by The FA centrally.  The FA has announced the decision that all coach education delivery will be moving across to an online learning platform going forwards using digital capabilities, with effect from March 2021.

The Boot Room

The FA are working hard to continually develop new resources and free content for our digital channels including YouTube, The Boot Room, the online FA community and Twitter, and to make these channels as user friendly and engaging as possible going forwards. COACHING PATHWAY 

STEP 1:
FA Playmaker - The FA Playmaker supported by BT is our new, free online entry-level football course perfect for anyone interested in taking a more active role in grassroots football. You will need to complete this before booking the Introduction to Coaching Football (previously known as the FA Level 1 Coaching Course).

STEP 2:
The FA Introduction to Coaching Football – this new course will be replacing the FA Level 1 coaching qualification which is no longer available. (FA Safeguarding Children and Introduction to First Aid in Football included)

The FA Level 2 Coaching Course – will now be known as ‘UEFA C License’ - more information to follow.
The FA Level 3 Coaching Course – will now be known as ‘UEFA B License’ - more information to follow.

The FA Playmaker

Is the new, free online entry-level football course perfect for anyone interested in taking a more active role in grassroots football. Learners can download a certificate at the end of the course; when they open the certificate online it also emails a copy: this is the link for this course https://www.thefa.com/bootroom/learning/qualifications/the-fa-playmaker - this course includes the safeguarding for all a pre course prior to the FA Safeguarding workshop.

The FA Introduction to Coaching Football

Introduction to Coaching Football is free online football coaching course for anyone looking to take a more active role in the game.
Minimum Age: 16, Course Duration: 4-week online course, Leading to: FA Level 2 in coaching football

Introduction to First Aid in Football

On Thursday 13th May 2021, the new online Introduction to First Aid in Football course will be available on The Boot Room for learners to access. The cost of the course is £30 and in line with our previous approach does not include recertification. The new course takes between 90 to 120 minutes to complete.

This online course replaces the previous face to face version and can be access here: https://thebootroom.thefa.com/learning/qualifications/the-fa-level-1-introduction-to-first-aid-in-football The course is valid for 3 years; at which point a learner will need to undertake the course again and pay £30.

Free other online medical courses 

Please note that learners whose first aid qualification was extended due to COVID-19 and those awaiting new courses, FA Education are recommending they complete these 2 x modules > 

The FA’s Concussion Guidelines and  Sudden Cardiac Arrest, these can be accessed here:  https://www.thefa.com/bootroom/learning/qualifications/medical-courses * these are not replacements but are interim medical assistance training until they complete the new IFAiF (first aid) course.

Safeguarding Children Certification

The cost of the course is £30 and does not include recertification. The new course takes between 120 minutes to complete.

Welfare Officers Course

Minimum Age: 18, Classroom: by Microsoft Teams, this course is designed to explore the role of a grassroots football Welfare Officer. You are required to have completed The FA Safeguarding Children Course before applying for this course.
This two-hour course is mandatory for anyone taking on the role of Welfare Officer for their grassroots club or league. Building on the Safeguarding Children Course, it focuses on the specifics of the role, what is required, and the key tools needed to carry out the role. It also explains where to go for professional support and guidance, and how to access more information if needed.
Delivered via a virtual classroom, learners should expect an interactive session and will be encouraged to participate through a chat function as well as via microphone, where relevant.

FA Safeguarding for Committee Members

This course will support you, as a committee member, to identify your individual and collective responsibility in safeguarding, so as a team you create an environment where the wellbeing of children and young people (under 18’s) is central to all that you do.

FA Guide to Safeguarding Adults

This module explores the meaning of ‘safeguarding adults’ and ‘adults at risk’.  It looks at: The context of abuse – the signs and indicators, How to report any concerns, How to use safeguards to reduce the rise of harm.

The latest information from FA Education is as follows: - Our Level 2 & UEFA B courses are currently unavailable to learners. We are hoping to have a new cohort of learners enrolled onto our courses when it becomes available in August this year (2021). Please note that this date is provisional and may change.
