Meet the Nottinghamshire FA Team

After our November Newsletter we asked for feedback on what you would like to see included in this month’s issue. It became apparent that you wanted to know more about the team at Nottinghamshire FA, who we are and what we do!

We’ve listened to this and below is an introduction to the staff at Notts FA:

Elaine Oram – Chief Executive. Elaine is Vice-Chair of the FA Women’s Committee and has been privileged to be presented to the Women’s FA Cup Finalists at Wembley for the past two seasons as well as hosted a number of England Women’s International Matches on behalf of The FA.

Leanne Woodhead – Senior Football Development Officer (lead on women and girls football). This season Leanne was part of an all-female referee team that officiated on a Friday Night NSL game, the first time this has happened in this league.

Callum Convery – Football Development Officer (lead on adult male football). Callum enjoys going to watch 1. FC Cologne in the Bundesliga when I can, apart from this season! Outside of football I enjoy watching women’s football, going on Stag-dos and making home make pasta.

Sara Dickinson – Football Development Officer (lead on disability football). Coaching disability sports has always been a passion of Sara’s, especially since the age of 14 when she was coaching at Nottingham Powerchair Football Club. Outside of work she is a huge American car enthusiast and also has a slight (so she says) obsession with beagles.

Tim Jones, Football Development Officer (lead on youth male football). Tim is a Level 3 coach and FA Coach Mentor who has also been involved in local grassroots football in Nottingham and Derbyshire for a number of years. He is also a season ticket holder at the City Ground and Trent Bridge!

Fiona Cantwell, Workforce Development Officer. Fiona deals with the volunteer workforce at Nottinghamshire FA looking at getting more people into coaching throughout the county, this includes the running of the coaches club. Unfortunately, being a Northerner Fiona supports Newcastle United which has caused a lot of grief from colleagues in the office!

Marc Birkett, Referee Development Officer. Recruiting, retaining and educating referees in the county from the grassroots game to the pro game. Marc has officiated four International finals including the 2012 FIFA Futsal World Cup Final.

Craig Lee, Football Services Manager leading the services team in areas of discipline, sanctioning and affiliation and the County Cups programme. Outside of work Craig dances Salsa and is gold standard in Ballroom and Latin.

Adam Wing, Football Services Officer. In his role Adam works on the governance and discipline of the game, so he will know if you are on the naughty list. Adam is also an aspiring coach and is currently attending his FA Level 2 Coaching Football. He is an avid supporter of Birmingham City FC

Jamie Gingell, Football Services Officer (lead on whole game system and player registration). Jamie started as an accounting apprentice at Nottinghamshire FA and is now lead on Affiliation, League Sanctioning and Player Registration. He enjoys socialising with friends and spending time with his Godson.

Saffron Smith, Marketing Officer who develops and implements the marcomms elements of the County Plan. Saffron is our Level 4 Apprentice, having completed her Level 3 Digital Marketing recently. Fashion mad Saffron also loves animals and admits to being a bit food obsessed - as long as it's vegan. Saffron has developed her knowledge of the game and living in a football mad household (despite the family rooting for The Rams) there's no escaping it!

Ali Howie, Welfare Officer.
