NINJA QUEENS SEEKING FA FUTSAL CUP GLORY

This Saturday (15th February), Notts Ninja Queens are in futsal Cup action. They will be taking part in the official first round of the female FA Futsal Cup Competition in Grantham against Cheshire Futsal.

The Notts Ninja Queens took part in two County Women’s Futsal Qualifiers through Nottinghamshire FA to be to reach this stage of the FA competition.

 Ninja Queens

Notts Ninja Queens tried their hand at futsal for the first time in the summer of 2019 and really enjoyed it. They are a group of ladies who, for the past few years, have been playing casual football once a week, so when the opportunity arose to try out futsal there were a few of them that were up for the challenge, not really knowing too much about it, but keen to learn.

Subsequently, they attended further futsal matches sometimes competing against teams with ladies much younger, most of the ladies being 30/40 plus. With the great support and guidance from referee/organiser of Nottingham Futsal League; Will Thompson they started to gain confidence, concluding in them winning a tournament putting them through to the Nottinghamshire FA Women’s Futsal Cup playoff finals.

Marie-Claire, Notts NQ Captain “We had a great game in the playoff finals in January - a close match which resulted in both teams being successful in getting their names into the hat for the draw of the FA Futsal Cup first round which we were beyond excited. We are thoroughly looking forward to representing our county in this weekend’s game.”

Nottinghamshire FA would like to wish the ladies of Notts Ninja Queens the very best of luck for Saturday and we hope you enjoy the experience.
