GROUNDSMAN OF THE YEAR FOR 2019 - 20 ANNOUNCED

The top three groundsmen in Nottinghamshire have been announced as the Groundsman of the Year winner is decided for 2019/20.

Moorgreen Colts Neil Martin was chosen as this year’s winner, with Chris Reynolds of Pelican and Vic Jennings of Meden Vale coming second and third respectively.

These nominations were open to clubs at Step 7 and below, and the Nottinghamshire FA would like to thank all clubs that took the time to nominate their groundsman for the awards.

The Nottinghamshire FA collated nominations over the course of the last few months and worked in partnership with Rigby Taylor and the GMA to decide the winners.

Leanne Woodhead-Groves, Business Development Manager at the Nottinghamshire FA, said: “I am absolutely delighted as we had another fantastic response to this year’s awards, and I would like to congratulate our three very worthy winners on their prizes.

“I would also like to thank Mark Robinson from Rigby Taylor Ltd for supporting our awards this year and his ongoing support for our groundsmen.”

Each of the top three will receive the following prizes:

1st Place – Neil Martin (Moorgreen Colts)

2nd Place - Chris Reynolds (Pelican)

3rd Place - Vic Jennings (Meden Vale)

Congratulations to the three prize winners and keep up the great work in maintaining your club’s pitches.

Mark Robinson, Rigby Taylor, said: “I genuinely wish I could give them all some reward as it was clear to see the number of hours they put in, and the dedication they give to ensure the pitches are in fantastic condition.

“We will continue to support and enjoy the Nottinghamshire FA Pitch Improvement Programme workshops as we have for the last few years and help educate the many willing volunteers.”
