Nottinghamshire FA are proud to select Broxtowe Women’s Project as our charity of the year
Nottinghamshire Football Association have named Broxtowe Women’s Project as it’s Charity of the Year.
The partnership was officially launched on 20 September 2022 at Nottinghamshire FA’s Head Office where Notts FA CEO Elaine Oram, Notts FA COO Leanne Woodhead-Groves and colleagues celebrated the ground-breaking partnership along with BWP’s CEO Colette Byrne.
BWP’s CEO, Colette Byrne, said: “We are extremely grateful to be chosen by the NFA as their Charity of the Year. This is the beginning of a very special partnership that we are unbelievably proud of as it will embed a lasting legacy across the county that raises awareness and tackles Domestic Abuse from the top down."
“We’re confident that this partnership will send a powerful message to players and football supporters alike that Domestic Abuse will not be tolerated.”
Notts FA’s COO, Leanne Woodhead-Groves, said “We are extremely proud to have BWP as our Charity of the Year. This partnership is about raising awareness and sending a message that Domestic Abuse will not be tolerated. Utilising our football community to embed this. We take our responsibility to use the power of football to engage and communicate important messages seriously. Our partnership with BWP is an exciting prospect. I look forward to working with Colette and her team to spread an extremely powerful message.”
Chris Harris, BWP Partnerships Manager, added: “This is an exciting opportunity for us to make a huge difference to families across the county."
“We’ll be working with NFA to embed a Domestic Abuse Policy that will support its staff and ultimately their members. Delivering training that will help staff identify and respond to Domestic Abuse, helping them make their workplace and membership a supportive and understanding environment for anyone affected."
“We look forward to supporting the NFA as they strive to become the first FA to achieve White Ribbon Accreditation. Together we will promote the White Ribbon message to players and supporters, asking them to take the White Ribbon pledge to never commit, excuse or remain silent about male violence against women.”
