Calverton Miners Welfare achieve 3* Accreditation
Calverton Miners Welfare have recently achieved 3* England Football Accreditation.
This is the highest level of accreditation and showcases the hard work and commitment from the club to offer everyone the opportunity to play football.
We wanted to write up a case study to really shine a light on the club and the work they have done and continue to do.
Calverton Miners Welfare was established in 1952, initially with just 2 teams. Since their formation they have grown to 22 teams in a village with a population of just over 7,000. The club have a full Male/Mixed pathway as well as a disability pathway and are increasing their Female provision through Wildcats and their football school.
The club have a mental health and well-being initiative called the "Heads Up" campaign and the importance of First Aid in Mental Health has been distributed to their Managers and Secretaries. Their Physical Health program includes football for all skill levels, catering to children and adults with Pan Disabilities. Additionally, they provide Wildcats sessions focused on enjoyment for girls, similar to their football school, which emphasises participation in football at grassroots level and the importance of volunteers.
