Coaches Club gets underway for the 2024/25 season

With the kickstart of the new season, Notts FA Coaches Club returned with the first of the calendar of events for the 2024/25 season. 35 adult and junior coaches attended a picturesque evening with our kind hosts Keyworth United Football Club on Platt Lane.

The session was led by the highly experienced Sam Griffiths, our Regional Coach Development Officer and Derby County Women Head Coach as she presented the first of four FA 'CPD Menu' items; Introduction to Coaching in Football: Delivering a Football Session. 

 

 


Our Football Development team are chasing an exciting schedule of events across the duration of the season with reputable tutors, elite coaches and special guests from our professional clubs, home grown talent and education requested by our grassroots community. 

Our Football Development Officer, Dan Smith said he was thrilled to see over 120 coaches express an interest in joining this selection of CPD, and the individual conversations with our workforce has been nothing but positive and supporting of our aspirations this season.


Confirmed ideas for this season include the below;

  • A five week cycle studying Create the Attack, Start the Attack, Start the Press, Defend the Goal and Transition with Simon Ward at Mansfield Town's RH Academy
  • Diversifying the Pathway with Dave Long at Nottingham Forest Girls Academy 
  • Futsal Principles and the Benefits to Football Players with Marc Birkett and England Futsal
  • Homegrown Talent Evening with WSL and UEFA Referee Grace Lowe, PFA Lead Dietician and University of Birmingham Head Coach Matt Lawson and FIFA High Performance Specialist and Nottingham Forest Academy Coach Rich Allen
  • Three more FA Coach Development team led 'CPD Menu' items about working with; play phase players (20th Jan), 7-11 players (21st Oct) and 12-16 players (18th Nov)
  • Goalkeeping Match Day Warm Ups and Speed in and Around the Goal with Bill Bennett

 

Nottinghamshire FA Club of the Year, Keyworth United Football Club and their Football Development Officer Mark Ritchie said 'last night was one in which the atmosphere was one of total enthusiasm from all coaches, and I think I speak on behalf of all in attendance that we look we look forward to future CPD events this season.'

The next confirmed event is on Monday 21st October, an FA 'CPD Menu' item; Delivering to 7-11 year olds.
