Young Referees Development Group 

Nottinghamshire FA prides itself on supporting Young Referees to reach their potential and our successful Young Referees Development Group offers regular events to enhance their performances.

Aimed at 14 – 18 year olds the YDG meets every half term and is free to access for officials within the age range and in all formats of the game. Each event is facilitated by the County FA’s tutor team but delivery comes from our talented young referees to inspire our referees. The format of the day remains the same for every event with structure in-service training in the morning both theory and practical and the afternoon featuring mentored games. The games provision is supported by the County FA’s Football Development Team and focusses on key programmes with the county plan.

The County programme is supported by the RA-FA Youth council project. The RA-FA Youth Council provides opportunities for young referees to play an active part in moving the FA forward and servicing young people within the game. Nottinghamshire FA’s YDG is proud to partner this programme with several young referees attending the various development days and working on the County FA’s own Youth Council.
