The 11v11 adult game is played by thousands of players every weekend throughout Nottinghamshire. Teams usually train midweek and play matches at the weekend, with competitive Saturday and Sunday leagues across the county offering players the chance to showcase their skills.

The Nottinghamshire Senior League Premier Division is a Step-7 league, meaning that clubs can climb through the leagues by competing within the league. The NSL also have a division 1, which looks to support clubs looking to make the move into the Step 7 league, and a division 2, providing competitive grassroots football for local clubs. The Midland Amateur Alliance dates back to the 1904-05 season, with the first league championship being won by Magdala Amateurs. The league incorporates teams from Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Sheffield and Hallamshire in its membership. There are two leagues offering competitive football for grassroots teams. The Nottinghamshire Amateur Alliance is also a historic league and celebrated their centenary in 2007. They offer two leagues offering competitive grassroots football, and were Silver Award winners for the FA’s RESPECT Regional Awards in 2015. The Mansfield Sunday League offers Sunday morning football in the Mansfield area, and has four leagues boasting teams that always have a strong showing in the Sunday County Cup competitions. For more information please contact League Secretary Kath Rowan: 07570 809205

The East Midlands Public Authorities League was established in 1969, and offers a home to competitive but sporting Sunday morning football. For more information please contact League Secretary Andy Williams: 07790 954816

The Notts. Sunday League was Founded in 1956 and at its height was one of the largest adult leagues in Europe. Currently the League has fifty three teams and is the largest adult 11 v 11 competition in Nottinghamshire. The League is proud of the record of some of its member clubs who have regularly won County Cups, and in 2009, member club Scots Grey won the FA Sunday Cup at Anfield! The Notts Football Combination League has its roots in The Bulwell & District League which was founded in 1895, and was a Saturday league, until the introduction of the Sunday divisions in the 1980s. For more information please contact League Secretary Denis Staples: 07977 939130
